Taylor Swift has been making headlines recently for her relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce. They have been seen on many outings together, including date nights and games for Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs. But in addition to their cute outings, fans are also taking notice of Swift’s evolving fashion choices for these occasions. The singer has been embracing a more romantic and feminine style, with a particular affinity for corsets.
As a fan of Swift’s aesthetic, I was curious to see how these corsets would translate into street style looks. With New York Fashion Week as my backdrop, I decided to try out two of Swift’s go-to corset pieces and give my honest review on their features, comfortability, and versatility. Read on to see if her outfits live up to the hype.

What I Like About the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset
Wearing this corset made me feel confident and sleek. It had been a while since I had worn a corset, but putting this one on brought back fond memories. The satin material gives it a luxurious look and feel, even when worn with clothes. I also appreciated the flexibility of the elastic straps, as the rest of the bodice is quite structured.
It’s no surprise that Swift herself wore this corset to a Chiefs game, pairing it with red Versace tweed separates, Medusa boots and bag by the same designer, a Louis Vuitton Tambour watch, and ruby jewelry from designers like David Yurman and Effy. To recreate the luxury feel without breaking the bank, I followed her lead and added a bold red lip using her signature shade Ruby Woo by Mac.
What to Consider Before Buying the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset
First and foremost, this corset is not for the faint of heart. It required my boyfriend’s full attention to help me get it on and off, and I had to fully loosen all the ribbons to even get it over my head. So, be prepared to spend some time and maybe ask for assistance. While it didn’t feel uncomfortable once it was secured, some people may find this corset tight and restrictive, especially when sitting down. I wore it to a fashion show and had it on for about three hours, and let out a sigh of relief when I took it off at the end of the night. Also, keep in mind that the straps are not adjustable, and this corset is on clearance, so it might be a better option to go for one with adjustable straps or consider one of the recommended alternatives from Victoria’s Secret, such as the Dare to Dream Lace Strapless Corset or Geo Daisy Lace Deep-V Corset.
