Adidas Originals x Bad Bunny Ballerinas: The Must-Have Sneaker of the Season
TikTokers have been going crazy over the latest Adidas Originals x Bad Bunny Ballerinas, priced at $273. As someone who usually prefers sneakers with a platform sole for an extra height boost, I was initially skeptical. However, upon seeing the retro shape and sporty twists, such as the bungee-cord laces, I was intrigued. And with the release of Bad Bunny’s 2025 album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS”, the hype surrounding these shoes has only increased. After all, Bad Bunny has been collaborating with Adidas since 2021 and has introduced over 20 styles with the brand to date. From unboxings to styling quests to dance routines, shoppers have been posting all about these viral shoes – after all, they are called ballerinas, so why not try some ballet?
I decided to give in to the hype and try the must-have Adidas Originals x Bad Bunny Ballerinas, but I knew I had to have them in the off-white colorway. Although the Bold Gold color was the first to debut, the Black option at $164 is currently the most affordable. As a fan of Bad Bunny’s fashion sense, I was also drawn to his dressed-down look in the campaign for the shoes. I was excited to see if I could pull off a similar look from head to toe. While I didn’t follow his outfit recipe exactly, I did my best to recreate it and fully immerse myself in the world of Adidas x Bad Bunny.
So, as a self-proclaimed fashion enthusiast, here’s my review of the Adidas Originals Bad Bunny Ballerina sneakers – which I fell even more in love with after dressing like Bad Bunny.
About the Adidas Originals Bad Bunny Ballerina Sneakers
These sneakers are a representation of Puerto Rican dance culture and music, perfectly reflecting Bad Bunny’s musical evolution. The silhouette is a fusion of ballet and Adidas’s iconic Taekwondo model, originally designed for martial arts in the early 2000s. The shoes feature suede overlays at the toe and heel, a pull-tab, bungee-cord laces, and “Benito” stitched on the side. They have a rubber sole, calf leather and calf suede outer, and fabric lining. While the gold colorway was the first to be released, the black and off-white options were launched in April 2025.
What I Love About the Adidas Originals Bad Bunny Ballerina Sneakers
One of the things that immediately attracted me to these shoes is their retro aesthetic, which is currently trending. The fact that they are shaped like ballet slippers adds a unique touch, making them stand out from other sneakers in the market. Of course, these shoes are also meant to embody the energy of music and dance, reflecting Bad Bunny’s personal style. I believe they have successfully achieved this in all three colorways.
Although I usually opt for platform sneakers to add some height, the feminine-meets-sporty silhouette of the Adidas Originals Bad Bunny Ballerinas made me forget about the height factor. I love how the flat rubber sole curves upward at the midpoint, emphasizing the natural curve of the foot.
Additionally, these shoes are effortless to style. The ballet slipper design allows them to seamlessly pair with both flowy dresses and more androgynous pieces. I personally appreciated how they elevated my casual outfit, and the signature three-stripes logo added a natural flow to my overall look.
Things to Consider Before Buying the Adidas Originals Bad Bunny Ballerina Sneakers
It’s important to note that since these shoes are currently sold out on the Adidas website, you may find a wide range of prices for available sizes on Farfetch and other resale destinations. Depending on the colorway and size you choose, there could be a price difference of around $100. As someone who purchased the off-white option, I have to mention that the suede at the toe scuffed relatively quickly. However, since it’s a taupe hue, it’s hardly noticeable and can likely be removed with a suede brush and eraser. You can also protect the suede trim with a shoe protector spray.
